Olga Steinberg-Neifach earned a BS degree in Biology and Chemistry from Moscow State Pedagogical University and a PhD in Cell, Molecular and Developmental Biology from CUNY. Following a postdoctoral fellowship at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University, Dr. Steinberg is presently a tenured Associate Professor at Hostos Community College, CUNY. With NSF support, Dr. Steinberg collaborates with Dr. Neal Lue of Weill Cornell Medical College to provide research experiences for Hostos students. In the future, she will develop a series of workshops focused on broadening student participation in STEM through professional development. Focusing on better skills preparation from disciplines, such as English (scientific writing), Mathematics (scientific calculations), Chemistry, Biology and Physics, Dr. Steinberg believes students will be equipped for more meaningful research experiences in the lab.
